The goal was to showcase my skills in both audio and motion graphics by creating an animated video with expressive lyrics. It would then be presented to a potential client. This project started by finding music that would be suitable for kinetic typography. The song had to be long enough to demonstrate the motion graphics, while also being assertive in its message.
There was minor difficulty in settling with an idea once I had it. The chosen audio was emotional and a reflection of both anger and loss. As a result, I found I had many ideas to include and settling with a single concept was not as simple. Once a song was found, I chose motion graphics which fit the direction the lyrics were taking.
By the end of the project, I had learned several new skills and had furthered my understanding of audio production in media. It was quite exciting to experiment with the different tools that led to this outcome. The various visual effects offered by Adobe After Effects were extremely helpful and versatile. I repeatedly communicated my work in steps with the client by sharing my idea, mood boards and final project over the course of several weeks. The final result was a product approved by both myself and the client.
